    BC Association of Clinical Counsellors

    REGULATORY COMMITTEES OF THE BCACC

As an Association, BCACC is bifurcated, i.e., there are two separate streams of official activity under our bylaws, reflecting our two complementary and equally important mandates. One stream is the Voluntary Association stream, which follows the mandate of member support, services and professional development. The Ethics and Standards Committee and the Continuing Competency are two examples of how this mandate is pursued.

The other stream of Association activity is the regulation of our members in keeping with the mandate of protection of the public. In pursuit of this, BCACC's bylaws have provided a regulatory function, which flows through the Office of the Registrar. There are two standing committees of the Board of Directors embodying the regulatory stream: the Inquiry Committee, which receives, investigates and seeks to resolve ethics complaints, and the Discipline Committee, which adjudicates ethics complaints formally. Each committee's role and procedures may be reviewed via the two links shown below.

Note: These procedures evolve quickly as bylaw revisions are drafted and approved.
