    CONTINUING COMPETENCY
    BCACC

    The Continuing Competency Committee is a standing committee of the Association in accordance with the Bylaws, Part 6, Section 50(1)(g) [as amended April 15, 1999]. The Chair of the committee is elected in accordance with the Bylaws, Part 4, Section 32(1) [as amended April 15, 1999].

    Committee members shall be appointed by the Chair, or by the Board of Directors. The committee membership shall reflect the regional make-up of the Association as far as possible in addition to the specific interest and expertise of the members.

    Guiding Principles

    • Continuing competency activities promote the knowledge and skills necessary to remain an effective clinical counsellor.
    • Continuing competency opportunities encourage member participation in the Association.
    • Opportunities for continuing competency should be available to all members throughout the province.

    The CC committee has several sub-committees:

    Conference Subcommittee, responsible for planning all aspects of BCACC conferences;

    Internet Subcommittee, responsible for directing the setup, design and ongoing evolution of our website, via the BCACC Webmaster; and

    Educational Opportunities Subcommittee, which develops liaisons with other professional organizations for the sharing of information about conferences, workshops and co-sponsorship opportunities.
