    Team Leader Mental Health

    SUMMARY
    Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice, and vision and values of the organization, the Team Leader, Mental Health is responsible to oversee and coordinate the delivery/daily activities of mental health and addiction services for the designated program. Plans and implements therapeutic mental health programs/services for clients with complex mental health and addiction issues; ensures services provide a high standard of care and promotes interdisciplinary practice and collaboration. Evaluates services to ensure program/service needs are met and liaises with key stakeholders on the achievement of program goals and objectives. Provides leadership and supervision to community health nurses and allied health professionals. Utilizes human resources policies and procedures to recruit and select staff. Develops policies and procedures. Coordinates care and provides treatments for clients; conducts mental health and psychosocial assessments. Coordinates requests for vacation, education and leaves of absence.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Masters degree in Allied Health discipline from a recognized program. Five years recent related experience providing mental health and addiction clinical services for designated program including three years post masters supervisory leadership experience or equivalent. Valid BC Drivers License. Travel will require the use of a personal vehicle.

    Counsellors

    Counsellors are required to provide psychosocial support to cancer patients and their families by counselling and providing support to group programs, which meet their needs. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you will assess needs and make appropriate referrals, develop strategies for patient support, education and follow-up care.

    Successful candidates will have completed a Masters program in Social Work, Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology, be registered with the Board of Registration for Social Workers of BC, or the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and have a minimum of one year of related experience in individual, marital and family counselling group work, program and community development and grief and loss counselling. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently and co-operatively as part of an interdisciplinary team are required.

    Langley Hospice Society Bereavement Coordinator

    Mission:

    Langley Hospice Society, a community based, non-profit organization, provides compassionate support to help people live with dignity and hope while coping with grief and the end of life.

    Responsibilities:

     Receive referrals from hospice residence, hospital, community organizations and the general public. Perform clinical assessments and develop therapeutic plan and treatment goals. Facilitate support groups for adults to facilitate basic and advanced training for client volunteers. Participate in ongoing program development. Participate in Langley Hospice community events and provide educational presentations. Maintain accurate database records on clients

    Qualifications:

     Masters level education in Counselling Psychology or Social Work and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education/training and experience in hospice palliative care and/or grief counselling. Additional education/training in critical incident stress debriefing and trauma counselling. Current registration with an applicable health profession preferably with the BC Registered Clinical Counsellors Association. Must maintain a valid BC Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle.

    Completion of a recent criminal record check

     Skills and Abilities:

    Ability to understand and embrace the philosophy of hospice/palliative care. Ability to work effectively with people of all ages, including children and youth. Ability to work well both independently and as a team player. Effective group facilitation skills.

    Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills

     Job Summary: Providing clinical counselling, intervention and support services to at-risk children, youth, adults and their families who are faced with FASD and other invisible disabilities.

     Qualifications:

    §         Registered Clinical Counsellor with a background in Social Work and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    §         Preferably 3-5 years counselling experience.

    §         Demonstrated ability to organize and lead groups

    §         Education/training and experience with children, youth and adults affected by FASD or with individuals who have developmental brain injuries.

    §         Experience in establishing community education learning opportunities and comfortable with preparing and delivering presentations at workshops, conferences, etc. 

    §         Current registration with applicable health profession preferably with the BC Registered Clinical Counsellors Association.

    §         Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.

    §         Completion of recent criminal record check.
